"The Prelude No.9 is an adagio, a quite reflective theme in the bass underneath incessant quavers in the Right hand. It was written for Linda Bhattacharya (Elliot Corner's first Piano Teacher) as a way of expressing his gratitude for all that she has done for him, as it's unlikely he'd be where he is without her today."
